President and founder of Wesco HMB, Inc. has spent over 40 years in the fire suppression industry – 15 years as president of R.C. Industries, a manufacturer of hand portable fire extinguishers and 25 as president of Wesco. He is the Immediate Past President of the Fire Suppression System Association (FSSA), serves as a member of the Executive Committee and has been an active member of their Board of Directors for over 10 years. John also sits on the Boards of the Halon Alternatives Research Institute (HARC), where he serves as the Secretary/Treasurer, and the Halon Recycling Corporation (HRC). He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Government from Monmouth University in Government and his Masters in International Affairs from the City University of New York.
John and his wife of 44 years live in New Jersey. They have two grown children.
Shannon Esopenko

Shannon has been with Wesco for over 14 years and has overall management responsibility for Wesco’s domestic sales, setting department goals and objectives, directing both sales and marketing efforts. She also oversees and coordinates Wesco’s tradeshows involvement, as well as membership in the various Fire Industry organizations.
Prior to joining Wesco in February of 2006, Shannon was a regional sales representative for FETN, responsible for selling satellite training for Fire Departments and EMS personnel in the Northeast. Before that, she worked for Chemguard, who was purchased by Tyco in 2011. At Chemguard, Shannon originally held the position of Regional Sales for the Northeast but, due to her strong and successful run in creating new business, was promoted to the position Business Development Manager for all 50 states.
When Shannon is not working, her hobbies include reading, movies, outdoor hiking and exploring, spending time with her husband and friends, and is currently learning Spanish. She can also be found being a “mom” to her two dogs and four cats. She has six grown children and one grandchild.

Karen has been with Wesco for nearly 14 years. Currently living in South Carolina, her responsibilities include handling customers in the Southeastern territory of the US and International sales. She is also responsible for maintaining our valued current customer accounts and obtaining prospective new accounts.
When not working, she enjoys spending time on the beach and visiting family who live in NJ and FL.

Gabriela joined Wesco HMB, Inc. in 2010 as a Staff Accountant.
As the proud daughter of immigrant factory workers, Gabriela was determined to pursue and achieve the goal of the “American Dream”. After completing high school in 3 years, she enlisted in the military, and served in the United States Army for a total of 8 years.
Gabby received an academic scholarship to attend Saint Peter’s University in Jersey City, NJ, where she obtained a Bachelor’s of Science in Accountancy and a minor in Business Law. Gabby also holds a Master Degree of Business Administration with a focus in Global Business from Kean University.
During her tenure at Wesco, Gabby has held various roles under the supervision of Mr. Daniel Dempsey, former Vice President and CFO. Gabby is currently responsible for financial analysis and forecasting, preparing annual budgets, managing the general ledger system, preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly regulatory reporting, performing account analysis and reconciliation, and establishing and maintaining internal controls.
As an animal lover, Gabby is an active member of Ayudemos a Pluto, a Venezuelan NGO that provides food, shelter, and medical help to animals in need. In 2018, she adopted Banana, a 6 year old red mini-pinscher, and in 2020, she rescued and adopted Einstein, a European starling.
She is also a member of Be The Change, a non-profit organization dedicated to community service and activism projects that help promote peace and non-violence in urban neighborhoods. In an effort to promote change, and as a way to honor her parents, Gabby started a small scholarship program in her native country of Peru in 2019, where she is currently funding post-secondary education for 2 recipients.
Gabby enjoys meeting new people, traveling, and food. She is fluent in Spanish, and is currently learning Italian.
Mark J. Buser

As Operations Manager, Mark’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling the day to day production; implementing the right processes and practices, along with formulating strategy, with the production team; evaluating and improving performance; procuring materials and resources for daily operation; securing compliance; and offering technical support. He has been with Wesco for 13 years and is looking forward to many more years with the company.
Mark joined Wesco with 12 years of experience in the HVAC field, where he was a mechanic and lead technician skilled in installation, fabrication, service, and maintenance of heating, ventilation and air conditioning equipment. This is also where he gained his background in recycling, recovery and reclaiming of refrigerants. By attending and completing three years of technical school, he covered many aspects of the HVAC industry and obtained EPA, Puron, boiler, and NADCA certifications, to name a few.
Mark is married and has four wonderful children who take up most of his time when not working.
Joe Saladino
Warehouse Supervisor
Joe comes to Wesco with an extensive 8+ years as a lead HVAC technician and has been with Wesco now for over 11 years. Joe has covered all aspects of work on Wesco production floor. Duties include but not limited to, are overseeing daily production, troubleshooting, all aspects of shipping/receiving, Inventory control, and many other duties.
Joe is married and spends his weekends enjoying time with his wife and son.
Kimberly Hagan
Administrative Assistant
Kimberly joined Wesco in 2017 as an Administrative Assistant handling all aspects of the front office. She skillfully manages administrative duties for both the President and Controller of the Company. She directly handles financial matters such as customer billing and accounts payable. She serves as a liaison between all departments ensuring the smooth operation of the company.
In her free time Kimberly enjoys cooking and focusing on healthy eating and exploring new gluten free recipes.

Kari is the editor of Wesco’s monthly newsletter, The Halon Herald, and is also responsible for the company’s social media campaigns. Over the years, she has helped to expand the quality and quantity of material provided in the newsletter, which covers numerous aspects of the fire protection industry. She spends each month scouring the web for new material to give the latest and greatest information to customers and friends of the industry and is always open to submissions, comments and questions from readers.
Before joining Wesco’s team, Kari worked for an internet marketing firm for six years; previous to that, she worked for The Asbury Park Press as an online news producer.

Joe came to join Wesco in January of 2020. As the business world changed, Joe helped Wesco discover new opportunities through online platforms. Responding to Webinars becoming the norm of communication, he prepared presentations for several audiences throughout the year, utilizing the newfound trends of the industry.
Him and his Fiancé are big Disney fans, which is where they got engaged.
